Others say it could take a whooping 10 pounds in a week on this diet, which is also false. There is no magical ingredient in cabbage that helps weight loss. The basic idea behind the diet is to starve yourself by drinking plenty of cabbage soup and water on the side. The trick is to
keep your stomach filled with cabbage soup to keep hunger away while the body burns fat to maintain itself.
The first version of the diet of cabbage soup offered nothing but the soup base. Recent versions have added fruit, vegetables, skim milk, lean meat or
brown rice for eating plan to help people stay with it longer. Dieters are not allowed alcohol. Drinks that one side of the cabbage soup, water and unsweetened juice. The soup itself is based on the cabbage, onions (or onion soup mix), tomatoes, green pepper, celery, carrots and mushrooms. There are some variations even here, but nothing important.
